JOB OPPORTUNITY: PRODUCT DESIGNER/MANAGER
As a Product Designer / Manager, you will wear multiple hats, combining creative design, strategic research, and technical project management. Working closely with the Founder, you will play a pivotal role in turning their vision into a reality. The Founder’s vision will guide the conceptualization and prioritization of features, and your role will involve translating this vision into designs and product specifications. You will also collaborate with the development team to bring the product to life and anticipate user needs, even before direct feedback is available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Design:
- Translate the Founder’s vision for the app into intuitive, visually appealing, and functional user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designs.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD,
- Design features and workflows that align with the app's mission of fostering family connections.
- Collaboration and Vision Execution:
- Work closely with the Founder to understand the product’s vision, goals, and priorities.
- Refine and enhance the Founder’s ideas with strategic input based on market research, industry trends, and technical feasibility.
- Act as a bridge between the Founder and the development team, ensuring alignment across all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Research and Concept Development:
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and industry research to identify trends and best practices in social media and family-oriented platforms.
- Leverage insights from popular platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook to inform feature development and user flow design.
- Validate assumptions and concepts through early adopter outreach or small-scale testing.
- Product Management:
- Write detailed product specifications that guide the development team, ensuring clarity and alignment with the Founder’s vision.
- Plan and prioritize a roadmap that balances the Founder’s long-term goals with short-term deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality execution of product features.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in product design and management roles, preferably in social media, family-oriented platforms, or similar industries.
- Extensive experience working on social media apps or significant experience using platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, or similar.
- Proven ability to conceptualize and design new products or features guided by a Founder’s or stakeholder’s vision.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and stakeholders.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address challenges in a new product space.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
- Passionate about AI technologies and their application to improve productivity and innovation in product design and product management. Experience using AI tools in these domains is a plus.
