Description

We have an immediate opening for a Household Manager.  The main duties of this job is to make sure all tasks related to the households are managed and completed.  Houses need to be cleaned and stocked, landscaping as well as the indoor / outdoor portions of the homes need to be maintained, and improvement projects need to be identified, contractors hired and projects managed thru completion.  The purpose of the job is to ensure the households and all associated with them are properly managed.  You are the “Butler” and the “Chief of Staff” of the household. 

 

  • Assist the head of household in managing his primary home / residence based in Las Vegas, as well as a number of other secondary residences in a few other States.
  • Hire and manage (ensure accountability) the right contractors to perform all maintenance tasks for ALL homes:
    • Change A/C and water filters every 3 months
    • Deep clean each house once every 3 months (under beds, behind closets, inside drawers, on top of fans, inside sink drains, under faucets, windows, carpets, etc.) 
    • Clean and wash the outsides of the home once every 3-6 months (windows, roof gutters, driveway, deck, balcony, yard areas, garage, etc.) 
    • Ensure batteries are replaced on smoke detectors, automated locks, security systems, automated blinds, standalone cameras etc. every 6 months or annually. 
    • Biweekly or Monthly landscaping maintenance
    • Make sure each home is prepared to receive guests 
  • Review and pay all bills related to ALL homes, organize and file bills, and perform quarterly analysis of household costs and suggest / implement cost cutting ideas (e.g., electric or water bills, etc.):
    • Property tax
    • Payment for utilities (water, sewer, internet, electric, gas)
    • Payment for repeated services (security, landscaping, pest control, etc.)
  • For primary home, perform simple daily household chores, or hiring the right Housekeeping crew to help to accomplish more time consuming weekly tasks:
    • Laundry / Dry Cleaning / Towels:
      • Do all laundry for all occupants of the house
      • Coordinate with dry cleaners and 
      • Fold and organize in closets
      • Wash and change sheets, duvet covers and towels weekly (if used)
    • Groceries and Supplies:i
      • Stocking the kitchen with the right food or drinks
      • Ensure house is properly stocked with water at all times
      • ith the right groceries (List will be created and provided)
      • With cleaning supplies
      • With paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, disposable coffee cups
    • Housekeeping Duties:
      • Emptying trash within the home every few days
      • Taking the trash or recycling out on a weekly basis (or as required)
      • Wash all dirty dishes and cups and put them away daily
      • Making the beds each day
      • Sweep, vacuum, steam or mop as needed to ensure homes are clean daily
      • Wash all tiles, toilet and other areas to ensure there is no mold or mildew
      • Dust all areas of the home where dust accumulates
      • Clean all furniture and appliances
      • Clean glass surfaces around the home
      • Check for marks on wall each week, and clean all marks off the walls
      • Clean, sweep / vacuum the garage area
      • Sweep outside the house (all decks, around the pool area, etc.)
    • Automotive Care
      • Wash cars once a month, or whenever dirty
      • Vacuum the insides of the car once every other week
      • Wash car carpets once a month
      • Clear out thrash (empty cups or bottles, etc.) from the car as needed
    • Pet Care:
      • Make sure all pets are properly cared for
      • Clean all pet areas
      • Walk the dogs
  • For ALL homes, identify, hire and manage contractors to complete any large home improvement projects as they come up.  For example, closets, landscaping, security systems, pool repair / rebuild, etc.
  • For primary home, event management for when any of the homes are used for parties or gatherings, which will include managing the resources needed to get the home ready for the event:
    • Hire the right crew to prepare the property for any such gathering or events
    • After event cleaning
    • Food and drinks necessary for the event
    • Event staffing needs
  • For ALL homes, any major home repair or improvement projects, help in selecting the right contractors and work with contractors to ensure project is completed per proposal.  Some examples of upcoming projects:
    • Landscape redesign at a secondary residence
    • Fencing project at a secondary residence
    • Security upgrade at primary residence
    • Pool upgrade at primary residence
    • Landscape lighting project at primary residence
  • Communicate weekly, monthly, and quarterly with the head of household:
    • On a weekly basis, prepare a one-page report on any major accomplishments, or issues requiring attention.
    • On a quarterly basis, meet with the head of household to go over cost / spending reports and analysis, as well as any suggested cost savings or improvements

The ideal Household Manager will be:

  • Responsible, organized, and accountable
  • Someone who over communicates and is transparent
  • Takes initiative to anticipate the needs of members of the household 
  • Have a driver's license and their own car
  • A 4-year degree is highly preferred
